Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations

  • You cannot zoom to 200% without text spilling off the screen, or forcing the mobile-friendly view to be displayed on your device, regardless of screen size. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.10 (reflow). It is hoped that this will be fixed in a future software upgrade).
  • There is inadequate colour contrast for the search box button, the breadcrumb trail and on our default thumbnail images. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.4.3 (minimum contrast). We plan to fix these issues by January 2025.
  • There is a missing form labels which makes it difficult for screen reader users to understand what the purpose of a form is. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content) We plan to fix these by January 2025.
  • There are buttons which are either empty or have no text, which makes it difficult for screen reader users to understand their function. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content). We plan to fix these by January 2025.
  • We have a number of redundant links which can cause repetition for keyboard and screen reader users. This fails WCAG 2.1 success criterion 2.4.4 (link purpose in context). We plan to fix these by January 2021.

Disproportionate burden

This section is not applicable.

Content that's not within the scope of the accessibility regulations

Documents in this repository are archival in nature, and consist of scans of print reports dating back to the early 1900's. Heritage collections like this material are currently exempt from accessibility requirements

Every attempt has been made to use OCR and other technologies in order to make the documents searchable, but there has been limited success in making them fully accessible by screen readers due to the nature of the source material.

If a document in the archive is urgently required in a different format, please contact us at Accessiblity requests and we will try our best to accomodate you.
